Readiness & Recovery
Returning to focus through real work — operating, shipping, and learning inside a small business.
Over the last two years, Leyton has worked alongside the team at a Lake Tahoe outdoor-services business, contributing to its day-to-day operations and to an internal toolkit the team calls Tahoe BOS (Business Operating Systems) — the practices the company uses to manage clients, marketing, and workflow. The role has been hands-on and unglamorous: the kind of work that rebuilds focus and demonstrates the strategic endurance the David Eccles School of Business expects of its students.

Why Utah & Funding
The David Eccles School of Business, the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, and a path through International Business are the right fit — not a fallback. Utah offers the combination of rigorous business education, an entrepreneurial community, and proximity to the mountains that have shaped Leyton's work and worldview.
To demonstrate readiness, Leyton has already moved his orientation date from July 16 to June 3 — six weeks earlier than required.
This page accompanies a formal request for a Funding Review. The goal is to close the gap between Utah and a California in-state option so that the best academic fit can also be the right financial decision for the family.
